There are many opportunities for parents to become part of the Cornerstone community! All-school picnics, school performances, celebrations and other all-school events happen throughout the year. The calendar on this website and the semi-weekly school newsletter keep you informed of upcoming events.

In addition, at the classroom level, there are opportunities to chaperone on field trips, read with a student, participate in a class project or event specific to individual classrooms.

There are also opportunities to support classrooms, teachers, and the larger community through the Parent Volunteer Group. There is no joining necessary—you’re already a part of the group!

The Parent Volunteer Group (PVG) is organized by the Board of Directors to carry out work that is supportive to the school and promotes the well-being of the school.  The PVG is involved in welcoming new families, organizing community service projects, coordinating parent efforts regarding teacher appreciation, and coordinating fundraisers, among other things.

The PVG posts all volunteer needs in Sign-Up Genius. You can easily sign up online!

The PVG periodically hosts Parent Coffee in the school gym. These are informal gatherings to hear about a topic of interest to parents and to learn about PVG events. Everyone is welcome! Minutes are provided to the school community so that parents unable to attend are aware of avenues for participation. Participating with the PVG is a great way to become involved in the life of the school.

Cornerstone Family Connections (CFC) is A PVG initiative to promote connections amongst Cornerstone families via social events outside of school. Anyone can plan an event!

Please contact Erin Garnett to add your name for new event notices from the CFC and to post an event in EventBrite, where you can find all the events.
