VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
THE CORNERSTONE COMMUNITY
There are many opportunities for families to become part of the Cornerstone community! All-school picnics, school performances, celebrations, and other school-wide events take place throughout the year. The calendar on this website and the semi-weekly school newsletter keep you informed of upcoming events.
In addition, at the classroom level, there are opportunities to read with students, participate in a class project, or support an event specific to individual classrooms.
There are also opportunities to support classrooms, teachers, and the larger community through the Parent Volunteer Group. There is no joining necessary—you’re already a part of the group!
PARENT VOLUNTEER GROUP
Cornerstone’s Parent Volunteer Group (“The PVG”), led by a PVG Chair, brings parents, teachers, and the school community together, creating stronger connections and a sense of teamwork. Volunteering through the PTA not only supports school events, programs, and resources but also shows children the value of giving back and being involved. Parents gain opportunities to share their talents, build relationships, and have a direct impact on their child’s educational experience, while schools benefit from the extra support and energy volunteers bring. It’s a win-win for everyone—students, families, and teachers alike.
The PVG gathers for regular meetings where parents come together to brainstorm fresh ideas, discuss new ways to support the school, and find meaningful ways to show appreciation for our teachers. These meetings are a chance to collaborate, share perspectives, and strengthen our school community. All parents are encouraged to attend, and we warmly welcome every idea and suggestion—big or small—because each contribution helps make a difference.
Email the PVG with any questions or to get involved!.
“As special as the Cornerstone experience was for my child and her life journey, I found Cornerstone to be an important community for me, too. Some of my closest friends to this day are people I met while volunteering at Cornerstone events, on the PVG, or on the Board of Directors. I love that the parents of Cornerstone come from all walks of life, all working together toward a common goal of creating an experience not only for our own children, but for their peers and even the future children of Cornerstone. The Cornerstone community really is magical for all who engage in it.”
